Granola pt 1

A lot of people have asked me for my granola recipe, I made a video here of how I make it. The video was too big to upload to the site so here is the youtube link to watch it, I can't figure out how to put the next video in this same post so, I'll put the second part in my next post. (I'll get better at this:).

Full glass jars-Excellent carrot cake-its still snowing

There are some simple things that make me so very happy, one of them is seeing the milk pitcher full of almond milk and opening the cupboard door and seeing no empty glass jars. I got this wonderful glass pitcher on Amazon that is just perfect, it has a wide mouth so none on that trying to stick the scrubbie in with a fork to clean the corners and it has top that seals when you turn it so none of that sloshing milk when you inevitably have to shake the almond milk, and its big so fits over 2 liters of milk. I think I mentioned that I make our almond milk, its a simple enough procedure but its soaking the almonds, making sure I have the container clean and then I have to wash out the cheese cloth, its not a big deal its just one those things I have to do every few days so when I see the pitcher full, I know I have a break for a few days.   Seeing the glass jar cupboard empty means I have all the glass jars full of food in the freezer, which also means I don't have to cook for a f...

My first entry

      I'm dedicating this blog to my two daughters, who are now 2 1/2 and 14 months. I've often thought that I would like to read my Moms thoughts and diaries from the time she was raising my sister me and my brother, thankfully now technology makes that much easier.      For a variety of reasons I have found myself very literally a Stay at Home Mom, and when I say stay at home, I mean just that at home, without many possibilities  of going anywhere except for the weekends when my husband is home. I was extremely frustrated and dare I say desperate at first, for me the ideal day would have me up early in the morning with  an hour by hour plan and a long list of things to do and places to be so to be confined to my house is especially difficult, but I have decided to embrace the opportunity to enjoy this time with my daughters and make the most of it. 2017 has been a great year!

I'm here playing with my girls in the morning,  Isabella is playing with her kitchen making me all kinds of foods, and Camilla is bringing me book after  book to read to her- pure happiness. We had a rough night last night, Isabella tried to come to our beds 5 times, which meant one of us usually my husband taking her back to her bed, Cami woke up at around 1:30 crying and continued doing so every few hours last night, I wish I knew what on earth was bothering her and why she is so disturbed at night, she writhes and screams in her sleep, my mom said I was the same so maybe its karma. Its so hard when they can't talk yet and you have to guess what is wrong, is it just her personality? Does something hurt her? Is she cold? Her ears? Her stomach? Or what they usually chalk it up to-her teeth.  I can thank my genes that even with very little sleep I still consider myself a pretty energetic person, I'm tired but I still have energy, so I'm very lucky.      Its...
