And the sofa saga continues....

In the house we just recently moved into we have this wonderful little loft that I now wonder how we ever did without. Its just perfect,  right between the rooms and its bright, not too big but big enough, it was one of the deal makers for buying the house, especially since I'm pretty much house bound its  the upstairs area we always hang out it, we set up the TV there and the kids toys, the only thing that is missing is the sofa.
Whenever I hear "we have to buy a sofa" I cringe, my husband does not like shopping for furniture, he won't admit it but he gets in a bad mood, they never have anything that we like, everything is terrible quality or way overpriced, I have to agree its hard to find things that have clean lines and are good quality that are not going to break the bank. We had an experience going to Ashley furniture a while back to try and get a coffee table, we went there because we just needed something simple for our family room, big mistake! We ended up buying a side table and coffee table and found out they were charging us about $200 for shipping it-not to our house to the store-yes not great, we thought we would make a day of it and drive 1 1/2 hours on the weekend to pick it up ourselves from the warehouse, we brought it back to our house and before even unpacking it we realized it was not the right fit for our room so we re-packed it (anyone who knows my husband and his packing skills will know he probably packed it better than store packers), and proceeded to take it back to the store for a refund or exchange. It ended with my husband  having a heated conversation with  the store manager who was trying very hard to stay calm and say all the right things like "I hear what you are saying, I can understand why you are upset", because they wanted to charge us a 30% packing fee and get this, charge us for the shipping back to the warehouse even though they have a truck that would go there every Tuesday and Thursday, my husband wasn't having it and after not giving in they gave us a voucher to be used in the store for the full amount that we paid and we didn't have to pay the packing fee or delivery fee. It left a very bad taste in our mouth though, we don't love their furniture in general but we were forced in a sense to buy something else there, after a lot of persuasion and just wanting to get the whole thing over with we bought a couch there for the family room, nothing special but we figured it would be the couch the kids would play on and we could change it in a few years.
So now we have to buy a couch for the loft area, and I can't do much shopping on my own since I'm at home all day, we decided to look on line, again it was weeks where I feel I have to insist on looking because everything seems horrible to him or way out of budget, we want a sectional sleeper sofa, and its really hard to find one like that that isn't only a full bed, we wanted at least a queen. Then, we found the perfect one  on Wayfair with a king size sleeper, excellent reviews and on a special sale, we bought it immediately. I was so excited the day it arrived I was going to try to take it upstairs piece by piece and see if I could start setting it up, I opened it and it had white piping!  Huge disappointment, I can get past some things but not white piping and the color was a blue more than the slate color we had ordered. They had sent us the wrong item,  I had to return it, Wayfair is excellent about returns and has very good customer service but there was  a problem with the shipping company and the enormous boxes sat in our living room for 2 weeks, after calls and e mails they finally picked it up and we ordered the other one I checked and double checked to ensure it was the right color and style. It took a month to get here, again I was so excited yesterday finally our sofa would be here and I could put away our make-shift air mattress sofa upstairs.  I opened the box and once again it had the white piping!!  I was so upset, apparently the manufacturer sold out of the one we have and they didn't update their picture (big mistake), and have been sending that one out, I don't know how they think people won't mind or notice, the one we want won't be in stock for months.  So now I have to get back online and look for another one. Thankfully Wayfair was very nice and will send someone to come pick it up  today supposedly and issue the refund.
It always comes back to me learning to be patient and to accept that things will not go as I planned. Lets hope its a good things come to those who wait scenario and our next couch will be the perfect fit.
